April 2022 - Empower Your Athletes

April 2022 - Empower Your Athletes

Hi

I hope this email finds you well. I happy to inform you about our latest Software updates, which we released yesterday. Here's a brief overview of the changes.

Small Adjustments

  • New Text Editor: We have adjusted the text editor you may use when writing tasks or when writing to coaches. Going forward you will have many more options on how to format your text.
  • Sending Test Emails for Tasks: Many of you have seen already, that you can send test emails to yourself, before contacting coaches. You will be able to do the same with tasks, that you send to your athletes. This will give you a better idea how your email looks like, to the athlete.
  • Adding Graduate Student: So far you were able to select "Freshman" or "Transfer Student", when editing an athlete's profile. Going forward you will be able to select Graduate Student as well.

New Feature for more Flexibility

We are thrilled to announce that we were able to provide another software update many of you have requested - enabling athletes to be active as well through our software.

Empower Your Athletes

From now on your athletes can manage the entire recruiting process on their own via Smarthlete. Assign tasks to them, guide them in the right direction and always keep track of their work, so that you can step in when needed.

What changed for your athlete?

Going forward your athletes can be in the driving seat of their recruiting process. They may not only work on the tasks which you assigned to them, edit their recruiting profile and view their university list, but also:
  • Create a university list on their own
  • Contact coaches
  • Keep track of their progress through the recruiting insights
Here's a short video, which shows what your athletes can do with their account.

Sit Back and Relax

The recruiting process is a lot of work. With our new configurations, you can delegate even more tasks, while still being in control of the process and keeping an overview of what is happening.

What changed for you?

You are able to define which athlete should be able to add universities to their university list and contact coaches on their own. You will be able to do so under Athletes > Configuration

Additionally, you can define default configurations for all your athletes going forward. This means that all athletes will have those configurations set up when they are being created. You can define those configurations under My Organization > Configuration

By allowing athletes to add Universities to their list, you can both work on the list. You will still be able to add universities to their long- and shortlist as well though.

However, when allowing an athlete to contact coaches, you will not be able to contact coaches for that specific athlete (for now). We have set it up that way, to ensure coaches are not getting confused. However.this will likely change in the future. Nonetheless you will have viewing rights and can still see all the conversations your athletes have with coaches.

As always, all the best from us, and please let me know in case you have any questions. I am happy to jump on a call and explain/show the new features.

Kind regards,

Yannick Weihs
